Adalberto is an Advisor to Worldview Advisory and an independent consultant in strategy, corporate governance, sustainability and behavioural economics. He is involved with iDirectores, Futerra Mexico and BEWorks Mexico.
He was a senior advisor to the Chief of Staff of Mexico´s current President (2020-2021) and before that he was Chairman of Mexico´s Banking and Securities Commission (2019-2020).
Adalberto was Aspen Institute Mexico´s CEO (2015-2019) and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Unión de Instituciones Financieras Mexicanas, A.C. (2018-2019).
In 2006 he became a senior partner of Proxy, Gobernanza Corporativa, S.C. He has advised companies in many sectors (corporates, financial, non profits and family run) on Corporate Governance in Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Perú, Colombia, Nicaragua, Panamá and Ecuador.
In 2006 he developed the business plan and headed Equinoccio, a funding vehicle sponsored by Deutsche Bank and The Ford Foundation to promote microfinance in Mexico.
He founded in 2004 Aperture, S.C. a firm specialized in Strategy and Corporate Govenance.
Until December 2003, Adalberto was an Independent Board member at IPAB, Mexico´s deposit insurance organization. To serve on the Board Mr. Palma Gomez was nominated by Mexico´s President and approved by the Senate in 1999. In this capacity he also served as Chairman of the Board of Banca Serfin (at the time the fourth largest financial institution in the country) to guide it through receivership.
Mr. Palma Gómez, was President and CEO of Bankers Trust México broker dealer, exchange and investment banking activities (1994-1998). He also headed Bankers Trust activities in Colombia and Venezuela.
He worked at Citibank México (1984-1994) where he was involved in International Trade Finance, Corporate Banking and Public Sectors Banking activities. His last position at Citibank was Managing Director for the Public Sector and Megacorporate Sectors. He worked at Banco Nacional de México (1978-1984) in the International Trade Finance area.
