Eric Fonberg is practicing physician in Toronto with an extensive background in primary care and emergency medicine. He has worked as a clinician in various communities in Ontario and in Nunavut and Africa.
He has postgraduate training in clinical medicine (emergency medicine and family medicine) and Master’s degrees in Health Policy and Management (Harvard) and Business administration (University of Toronto). Eric also has a diploma from the Chartered Director Program at McMaster University.
Eric has broad experience in health care as a provider, manager and consultant.
Eric has held senior management and governance positions in various hospitals in Ontario and in in the biotechnology and insurance industries in Toronto. He also has a long career in consulting with Ernst and Young, KPMG and Blackstone Partners, and as an independent consultant to the health care industry. He has lead and/or participated in numerous projects throughout Canada. His assignments include strategy, operational improvement light off, quality management and organizational restructuring and business development. He has also consulted to health care organizations in the UK and in Africa.
