Mr. Malik is a Partner and Head of Research of Jacob Capital Management Inc, a merchant banking and financial advisory firm with a focus in the global renewable power, water, infrastructure and the resource sectors. Mr. Malik has over 15 years experience in institutional capital markets. He started his career in sell-side equity research at UBS PaineWebber and Morgan Stanley based in NYC in the top ranked team as ranked by Institutional Investor in the coverage of the non-life insurance sector. With direct coverage responsibilities as a senior associate for some of the largest financial institutions in the world including Berkshire Hathaway and American International Group.

Moreover, he was the first sell-side research analyst in North America to provide comprehensive coverage of the global cleantech sector.  Mr. Malik was also the first research analyst to launch coverage on the Canadian Cannabis industry. Specifically, Mr. Malik and his team have worked with most of the original 12 licenses holders in a variety of capacities including now market leaders Canopy Growth Corp., Aurora Cannabis Inc., and Organigram Holdings Inc. Furthermore, he hosted the first 3 business conferences/seminars on the industry and its regulatory environment in the nascent stages of the sector’s lifecycle.
