Sasha Jacob, is the Chairman & CEO of Jacob Capital Management Inc. a merchant bank focused on the renewable power and infrastructure sectors. Sasha brings over 20 years of experience in finance, including founding and leading the power and infrastructure practice at a leading Canadian investment bank. He was the first investment banker to focus on renewable energy in Canada and has managed over 100 transactions in the renewable sector valued at more than $8 billion. Sasha was recognized by Institutional Investor as one of the “5 Most Influential Emerging Players in Renewable Energy” globally.
Sasha holds a BA from Bishop’s University, MBA from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, GP LLM from the University of Toronto and MA in sustainable finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. He was the recipient of the Laurier MBA Alumni 2009 Outstanding Executive Leadership Award and the Bishop’s University Top 10 After 10. Mr. Jacob has served on the Boards of several charitable organizations including as Vice Chair of World Wildlife Fund (WWF Canada), Director of Plan International Canada, Past Chair of the Board of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO Maple Leaf) and current Chair of the Board of Nature United (The Nature Conservancy in Canada) and inaugural Chair of Plan Catalyst, Plan’s for-profit entity focused on ESG and innovative finance. He is also the Chair of Maritime Launch Services (NEO:MAXQ) building Canada’s first SpacePort in Nova Scotia.
